Blanche was born in 1380 in Coggeshall, Essex, England.1 Blanche's father was Sir William Coggeshall and her mother was Antiocha 'Mary' Hawkwood. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Cogeshall and Daughter Watteville; her maternal grandparents were Sir John Hawkwood and Margaret. She had a sister named Alice.
