Andras was born about 1210 in , Esztergom, Komárom-Esztergom, Hungary.1   Andras' father was Andrew II "Masodik Endre Arpad and his mother was Gertrude de Andechs-Meran. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Bela IV, Kalman, Maria and Erzsebet.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Jolan.  He died about June 12th, 1245.1
