Owain Ap Hywel

Owain was born about 0913 in Dynevor Castle, Llandilo, Carmarthenshire, Wales.¹ Owain's father was Hywel Dda Ap Cadell and his mother was Elen Verch Llywarch. His paternal grandparents were Cadell Ap Rhodri and Rheingar; his maternal grandfather was Llywarch Ap Hyfaidd. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Maredydd, Rhodri, Rhain, Dyfnwal, Edwin, Cynan, Einion, Gwenllian Verch and Angharad Verch. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died in 0987.¹
