Ralph De was born about 1134 in of, South Petherton, Somersetshire, England.1 Ralph De's father was William De Albini Or D'Aubi and his mother was Cicely Bigod. His paternal grandparents were William Roger Pincerna Aubiney and Adeliza De Grantmesnil; his maternal grandparents were Earl of Norfolk Bigod Roger II and Adeliza Grantesmesnil de Toeni. He had four brothers named William De, Robert De, Roger De and Eudes De. He was the second youngest of the five children. He had two half-brothers named Ralph De and William.
