John F. was born in July 1747 in Lehigh Co.,Pennsylvania. John F.'s father was Frederick Romig and his mother was Catherine Siegfried. His paternal grandparents were John A Romig and Agnes Bernhardt; his maternal grandparents were Johannes Siegfried and Elizabeth Seves. He was an only child.
