Robert "The Bruce" was born on July 11th, 1274 in Writtle Near Chelmdford,Essex,England.  Robert "The Bruce"'s father was Robert VII De Brus and his mother was Margaret de Galloway .  His paternal grandparents were Robert "The Competitor" De Brus and Isabel De Clare ; his maternal grandparents were Neil de Galloway  and Margaret Stewart. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Robert IV "The Bruce", Edward, Isabella, Christina, Christina, Isabel, Maud, Maud (Mary) and Margaret.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 54 on June 7th, 1329 in Cardross,Dunbartonshire,Scotland.
