Roger "The Poitevin" was born about 1060 in Normandy,France.  Roger "The Poitevin"'s father was Roger II DE MONTGOMERIE and his mother was Mabel Talvas D' ALENCON.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh DE MONTGOMERIE and Josceline de Torfulus ; his maternal grandparents were Guillaume (William) Talvas and Haberga De Beaumont. He had a brother and a sister, named Roger III and Sybil.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died in 1119.

‌Roger "The Poitevin" and Adelmode were married in a religious ceremony in 1083 in Poitou,Aquitaine,France.  They had three daughters named Avice, Avice and Ponce.
