Robert I was born about 1062 in Derbyshire,England. Robert I's father was Henry De Ferrers and his mother was Bertha Roberts. His paternal grandparents were Walchelinde De Ferrers and Alice Leche; his maternal grandfather was Eugerulphe Roberts. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert, Milicent and Gundred. He was the oldest of the four children. He died in 1139.-
