Robert was born in 1177 in Burton,Constable,Yorkshire,England.  Robert's father was William Constable and his mother was Julian Altoft.  His paternal grandfather was Robert Constable; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Altoft.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 74 in 1251 in Lincolnshire,England.
