Joan was born in 1272 in Acre, Palestine.  Joan's father was Edward PLANTAGENET and her mother was Eleanor DE CASTILE.  Her paternal grandparents were UNKNOWN PLANTAGENET and Matilda UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand DE CASTILE and Johanna Of PONTHIEU. She had four brothers and ten sisters, named John, Henry, Alfonso, Edward, Eleanor, Julian Katherine, Margaret, Berengaria, Mary, Isabella, Alice, Elizabeth, Beatrice and Blanche.  She was the fifth oldest of the fifteen children.  She died at the age of 35 on April 23rd, 1307 in Clare, Suffolk, England.  She was buried on April 26th, 1307 in Priory Church Of The Austin Friars, Clare.
