Sarah Alcea BARNEY

Sarah Alcea was born about 1837 in <St. Joseph, Berrien, MI>. Sarah Alcea's father was Edson BARNEY and her mother was Lillis Ballou. Her paternal grandparents were Royal Barney and Rachel Marsh Barney; her maternal grandparents were Seth BALLOU and Sophia Batton Anderson. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Danielson Buren, Olney Ammon, Edson Olney Valroy, Joseph Seth, Alice Malena, Eliza Arabell (or Aribella), Alcea Celinda and Celinda Alcea. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She had two half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Royal Hyrum, James Alexander, Lucy Matilda, Partha Ann, Lillis Louisa, Emma Jane, Rachel Marsh, Martha Rosetta and Ellen Urselene.
