Nathaniel was born on April 9th, 1689 in Providence, Providence, RI.  Nathaniel's father was James BALLOU and his mother was Susanna WHITMAN.  His paternal grandparents were Maturin BALLOU and Hannah PIKE; his maternal grandparents were Valentine WIGHTMAN and Mary WHITMAN. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Obadiah, Samuel, Nehemiah, Susannah and Bathsheba.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 58 on January 11th, 1748 in Cumberland, Providence, Rhode Island.  He was buried in Ballou Burial Gd, Cumberland, Providence, RI.
