Mareka 'Mary' H. was born on September 27th, 1853 in Near Oldersum, Ostfriesland Germany. Mareka 'Mary' H.'s father was Ulfert Hinrich Willemssen and her mother was Anna Sophia Frerichs. Her paternal grandparents were Hinrich Hindkerk Willems Willemssen and Mareka Antoni Hassebroek. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Hinderk Ulfert, Kobas Ulfert, Trina and Ettje H.. She died at the age of 46 on January 27th, 1900 in Near Germania (Lakota), Kossuth County, Iowa. She was buried in Ramsey Reformed Cemetery, German Valley, Iowa.-
