William Thornton

William was born in 1340. William's father was Thomas Thornton and his mother was Joan Nellison. His paternal grandparents were Lord William Thornton and Isabel De Newton; his maternal grandfather was Peter Nellison. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert, Thomas and Joan. He was the oldest of the four children.
