Joanna Plantagenet 
Joanna was born in September 1191. Joanna's father was John Lackland and her mother was Clemence D'Arcy. Her paternal grandparents were Henry II Curtmantle Plantagenet and Duchess of Aquitaine Eläeonore; her maternal grandparents were Thomas D'Arcy and Alice D'Eincourt. She had ten half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Henry III, Richard, Osbert Gifford, Oliver FitzRoy, Geofrey FitzRoy, Richard, Henry, John FitzJohn, Eudo, Ivo, Joan, Isabella 'Elizabeth', Eleanor, Joanna, Isabel "la Blanche" and Matilda.General Notes
Joanna was the wife of Lewellyn the Great, but her mother Clemence D'Arcy was a fictional character created by Sharon Kay Penman for her book "The Reckoning". Most sources agree that her true mother was Agatha Ferrers, also a girl born into a noble family and taken as mistress by King John, and so I have opted to use this as a possibly more accurate information source. I have also left this entry in place as a tribute to Ms. Penman's excellent novel.
