Raymond Fred was born on January 18th, 1925 in Nashua, Wilkin, Minnesota. Raymond Fred's father was Paul Fredrick Neuman and his mother was Alvina Katrina Wilhemina Freda Roth. His paternal grandparents were Fred Neuman and Lena Pomeraing; his maternal grandparents were Theodore Roth and Dorothea Helena Augusta Johanna Becker. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Edwin Rhinehart, Lawrence, Gilbert, Norbert, Donald, Alice, Mable, Eleanor Ida (Norie), Edna Marie, Esther and Lorraine Johanna "Tootie".
