Benton F.'s father was Francis F. YOAST and his mother was Maggie MALOCH.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh YOAST and Matilda Mary Elizabeth WILSON. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named James Francis, William Hugh, John Henry, Mary Alice, Louise Etta, Martha Elizabeth, Josephine, Rose Ella, Dora Lee, Della May, Stella Opal and Cora Lovina.
