Patience was born in 1689 in Eastham,Barnstable,Massachusetts. Patience's father was James Freeman and her mother was Sarah Merrick. Her paternal grandparents were Bridges Freeman and Bridget Evelyn Fowler; her maternal grandparents were William L. Merrick /Myrick and Rebecca Tracy. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Sarah, Rebecca, Mercy, Susannah, Mary and Elizabeth.
