Lawrence Crawford 
Lawrence was born in Scotland. Lawrence's father was Robert Crawford and his mother was Margaret Semple. His paternal grandparents were Malcolm Crawford and Marjory Barclay; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Semple. He was an only child. He died on June 4th, 1547 in Scotland.General Notes
Sir Lawrence of the "Illustrious" family of Crawford,Kilbirnie,Ayrshire,Scotland,married Helen, the daughter of Sir Hugh Campbell ofLoundon, ancestor of the earls of Loudon.On April 5,1529 he exchangedCrawford-John lands with Sir James Hamilton for lands inDrumry,Dumbarton. This was the progenitor of the Viscounts of Garnock(merged in the earldom of Crawford in 1749) and the immediate ancestor ofthe Crawfords of Jordanville, Renfrewshire.
‌Lawrence and Helen were married in a religious ceremony in Scotland. They had six sons and two daughters, named David, Hugh, John, Robert, Thomas, William, Catherine and Isobel.
