Her paternal grandparents were Herbert I Count of Vermandois and Beatrice Countess Vermandois Morvois; her maternal grandparents were Robert I Count of Paris, Potiers, Duke of France and Adele(Adelaide) Princess of France. She had two brothers and a sister, named Albert I 'the Pious' Count of, Robert Count of Troyes and Meaux and Liutgarde. She was the oldest of the four children.
