Robert de Twenge Lord Thweng 
Robert was born about 1257 in Kilton Castle,Kilton,North Riding,Yorkshire, England. Robert's father was Marmaduke de Thweng Lord of Kilton Castle and his mother was Lucia de Brus. His paternal grandparents were Robert de Thweng and Maud de Kilton; his maternal grandparents were Peter II de Brus Lord of Skelton and Hawise de Lancaster. He had a brother named Marmaduke. He was the older of the two children. He died before 1284.General Notes
Robert de Thwenge was first son and heir of his father. He served in Wales for the Bishop of Durham in 1282. He died s.p.m. and was succeeded by his younger brother, Marmaduke, who became Lord Thwenge.
g. Robert is known to have married, before December 1265, Alice de Merlay, aged 8 years, of Morpeth, but as she died shortly before 7 February 1267/68, it is believed that she was likely not the mother of his daughter Lucy. One source states that Robert had a mistress, namely Matilda Hansard, by whom two sons were born, while another source states that Matilda was Robert's second wife and the mother of Lucy.
