Susan Jane was born on August 24th, 1838 in Shelby Co.,KY. Susan Jane's father was Squire Wade and her mother was Thursa Rodgers. Her maternal grandparents were George W. Rodgers and Elizabeth Pierson. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Alfred, William Henry, John Berry, Enos, Sally and Cynthia Ann. She was the third oldest of the seven children.-
