Nest was born about 1027 in Powys,Wales.1   Nest's father was Cynfyn Ap Gwerystan and her mother was Angharad Verch Maredydd. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Bleddyn, Rhiwallon, Daughter and Iwerydd.  She was the youngest of the five children.
