Joost Jansen was born in 1656 in Gelderland,Holland. Joost Jansen's father was Jan Joosten VanMeteren and his mother was Maeyken Hendricksen. His paternal grandfather was Emmanuel Van Meter; his maternal grandparents were Hendrick Hendricksen and Lysbeth Voet. He was an only child. He died at the age of 50 on June 13th, 1706 in Salem County,New Jersey.-
