John Elias was born on March 28th, 1882 in Gatchel,Perry County,Indiana. John Elias' father was Francis Marion Terry and his mother was Nancy Ann Sands. His paternal grandparents were Elias Terry and Eleanor Sandage; his maternal grandparents were Joshua Sands and Martha Evans. He had a brother and five sisters, named Alford Marcia, Claria Jane, Annie Floria, Mary Belva, Martha E. and Cordie Lee. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Lester Everet, Lloyd Kilburn, Bertha Ada, Gladys Ethel, Lula May and Minda. He died at the age of 61 on November 27th, 1943 in Gatchel,Perry County,Indiana. He was buried on November 30th, 1943 in Lily Dale Cem,Perry County,Indiana.-
