Edward was born about 1643 in of,St Donat's,Glamorganshire,Wales. Edward's father was Edward Stradling Sir Barone and his mother was Catherine Perry. His paternal grandparents were Edward Stradling Sir Barone and Mary Mansel. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Catherine and Jane.
