Robert was born on June 17th, 1739 in Spotsylvania County,North Carolina. Robert's father was George Shepherd and his mother was Elizabeth Mary Angelique Day. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Day and Elizabeth. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John James Shepherd, George, James, Ann and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 77 on May 6th, 1817 in Reddies River,Wilkes County,NC.-
