Richard was born in 1641 in Little Sodbury,Gloucester,England. Richard's father was Nicholas Or Thomas STEPHENS and his mother was Elizabeth STORKEY. His paternal grandparents were Thomas STEPHENS and Elizabeth STONE. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Nicholas, Henry and Catherine. He was the oldest of the five children.
