His maternal grandparents were Meshack Pierson and Mary Jennings. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Nicholas, Charles, Willis, Alfred R., William M., Samuel, Daniel, John, Thursa, Nedelie, Mahala, Betsy and Sarah. He died at the age of 60 on November 24th, 1879 in Shelby,KY.-
