Hans Jacob Richter 
Hans Jacob was born in 1674 in Germany. Hans Jacob's father was Christoffel Richter and his mother was Anna Catharina Becker. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Richter and Anna------------; his maternal grandparents were Hermann Becker and Ottilia------------. He had six brothers and a sister, named Johannes, Freidrich, Johannes, Fredrich, Jacob, Hans Henrich and Cathrin. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 55 in 1729 in Germantown,Virginia.General Notes
Godfather Jacob Zimmerman. They left their home in the summer of 1713 along
with 11 other families, 42 persons from Nassau-Siegen. They were brought to V
by Gov. Spotswood to develope iron deposits supposed to be in the Piedmont
region. They settled 1st on the Rapidan River at a place called Germanna.
Members of German Reformed Church. Later they all moved to Fauquier Co.VA
taking 1805 acres lying on both sides of Licking Run. Continued on wife's
