Matthew ROYCE 
Matthew was born in 1709 in Norwich,New London,Conn. Matthew's father was Jonathan ROYCE and his mother was Ruth BECKWITH. His paternal grandparents were Johnathan ROYCE and Mary SPINNING; his maternal grandparents were Matthew (Mathew) BECKWITH and Mrs. Elizabeth BECKWITH. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Jonathan, John, David, Nehemiah, Mary, Elizabeth, Ruth, Martha and Deborah. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 64 on December 8th, 1773 in Washington,,Conneticut. He was buried in Washington,Conn.General Notes
