Cynthia was born in 1835 in Shelby Co.,KY. Cynthia's father was John Pierson and her mother was Nancy P. Gee. Her paternal grandparents were Meshack Pierson and Mary Jennings. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, Henry, James, Joseph, Elizabeth, Nancy, Margaret and Louisa. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.-
