Benjamin Phippen 
Benjamin was born in (Prob) Melcombe,Regis,Dorsetshire,England. Benjamin's father was *David Phippen and his mother was *Sarah Pinckney. His paternal grandparents were *Robert Fitz Pen Phippen and *Cecily Jordan. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, *Gamaliel, George, John, Judith, Rebecca and Sarah. He died before October 21st, 1678 in Boston,MA.General Notes
SECOND GENERATION
BENJAMIN PHIPPENY (III), son of David and Sarah Phippeny was born in England and came to New England with his parents in 1635. He married (first) Wilmot (surname unknown), and (second) Eleanor, who survived him. He died in Stratford, Connecticut, 1678. His children by the first wife were:
I--David, b. Nov. 6, 1651.
II--Sarah.
III--Benjamin, b. Apr. 6, 1654; died soon.
IV--Benjamin, b. July 15, 1656.
V--Mary, m. Nathaniel Sherman, 1680.
VI--REBECCA, b. abt. 1660. (See following.)
VII--James, b. abt. 1663; m. Joanna (???)?
VIII--Thomas. Settled in Boston.
IX--John.
X--Joseph.
THIRD GENERATION
REBECCA PHIPPENY (VI), daughter of Benjamin and Wilmot Phippeny, was born about 1660, and died August 5, 1739. She married, June 6, 1683, Benjamin Sherman of Stratford, Connecticut. (Sherman VIII.)
