Her paternal grandparents were John Holman Jones and Nancy Drew. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John Holman, William Wiley, Gideon A., Johnathan Jordan, David, Smith M."MITT", James Monroe G., Nancy, Phoebe M., Frances Ann and Louisa E..
