William Hampton Jr 
William was born on June 27th, 1808 in Cabell Co,Virginia (now W. Virginia). William's father was William Hampton Sr and his mother was Malinda Shortridge. His paternal grandparents were Cary Henry Hampton and Elizabeth Plunkett; his maternal grandparents were George Shortridge and Margaret Muir. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Wade, George Shortridge, Levi J, Dr. Henry, Eli, Louisa and Eliza. He died at the age of 79 on July 25th, 1887 in Catalettsburg,Boyd Co,Kentucky.-
