Rainer I 'Longhals' Count of was born in 0850 in France.  Rainer I 'Longhals' Count of's father was Graf Graf Giselbert (II) von Maasgau and his mother was Ermengarde of Princess of Italy Lorraine and Burgundy.  His maternal grandparents were Lothar I King of Italy, Holy Roman Emperor and Ermengarde of Orleans.  He was an only child.  He died about 0916 in Meersen,Palatine.1
