William Gentry

William was born about 1742 in Virginia. William's father was David Gentry and his mother was Sarah Brooks. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Gentry and Ann Allen. He had eight brothers named Hezekiah, Elisha, Elijah, Nicholas, David, John, Simon and Allen Cain. He was the oldest of the nine children.
