On 8-Feb-1865 he volunteered at Evansville, IN in Company K, 146 Regiment
Indiana Infantry. He was given a disability discharge 31-8-1865 at Baltimore
MD. He was a farmer at the time of his army service. He then became a
physician. His brother, Thomas was a physician also.
