Hugh was born in 1108 in Wigmore Herefordshire England.1   Hugh's father was Ralph De Mortimer and his mother was Milisent De Mers Ferrers.  His paternal grandparents were Roger De Mortimer and Hawise De Vixen.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 77 in 1185.1
