Negltje Gerritse was born in 1641 in Amersfourt,Holland. Negltje Gerritse's father was Gerrit Wolfertse Van Couwenhoven and her mother was Altje Cornelisen Cool. Her paternal grandparents were Wolfert Garretson Van Couwenhoven and Neeltje Janse; her maternal grandparents were Cornelius Lanbertse Cool and Altien Brackhonge. She had a brother named William Gerritse. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 33 in 1674.General Notes
