Thomas COURTENAY Sir 
Thomas was born about 1311 in Of,Southpole,& Woodhuish,& Dunterten.1 Thomas' father was Hugh De COURTENAY Sir and his mother was Agnes SAINT JOHN. His paternal grandparents were Hugh De COURTENAY and Eleanor Le DESPENCER; his maternal grandparents were John SAINT JOHN and Alice FITZPIERS. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John De, Hugh De, Robert De, Baldwin De, Eleanor De and Elizabeth De. He was the third youngest of the seven children.
