General Notes
In his will probated 14-Nov-1687 John Bourton-Borton left shares in the London
Tenth, Burlington Co. to his sons (a tenth was considered as 32,000 acres and
its inhabitants were entitaled to ten Representatives in the General Assembly
and the latter was empowered to fill the public offices). This land left ex-
tended from a line now occupied by the Mt. Holly to the Rancocas, and was
known as the Borton Tract. New Jersey Assembly Jan. 1, 1682, John Borton in
connection with Wm Brighton was chosen as Constable of the London Tenth.
