Brigham was born on September 23rd, 1856 in Little,Bolton,Lancs,England. Brigham's father was Thomas BARNES and his mother was Nancy BOARDMAN. His paternal grandparents were Peter BARNES and Betty HARRISON; his maternal grandparents were William BOARDMAN and Mary PENDLEBURY. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Henry, William Henry, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the youngest of the six children.
