Eleanor De was born about 1246 in Bernard Castle,Gainford,Durham,England.  Eleanor De's father was John De BALIOL [LORD OF BARNARD [LORD OF B and her mother was Dervorgilla De Galloway.  Her maternal grandparents were Alan De Galloway [LORD OF GALLOWA [LORD OF G and Margaret Huntingdon [PRINCESS OF SCO [PRINCESS. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Hugh De, ALEXANDER De, John, Alan De, William De, Cecilia De, Mary De, Ada De and Margaret De.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
