Capt. James Avery 
Capt. James was born about 1620 in Devonshire,England. Capt. James' father was Christopher Avery and his mother was Margery Stevens. His paternal grandparents were Christopher Avery and UNKNOWN Johanna; his maternal grandparents were Edward Stevens and UNKNOWN Margaret. He was an only child. He died on April 18th, 1700 in Poquonnoc,Connecticut.
Capt. James and Joanna were married in a religious ceremony on November 10th, 1643 in Boston,Suffolk County,Massachusetts. They had six sons and four daughters, named Capt. James Avery, Thomas, Christopher, Samuel, John, Johnathon, Hannah, Rebecca, Joanna and Mary Marie.

Hannah was born on October 11th, 1644 in New London,New London County,Connecticut. She died at the age of 76 on August 22nd, 1721 in New London,New London County,Connecticut.
Capt. James Avery Jr.
Capt. James Avery was born on December 16th, 1646 in Gloucester,Massachusetts. He died at the age of 101 on August 22nd, 1748 in Poquonnoc,Connecticut.
Christopher Avery
Christopher was born on April 30th, 1661 in New London,New London County,Connecticut. He died at the age of 22 on December 8th, 1683.
Samuel Avery
Samuel was born on August 14th, 1664 in New London,New London County,Connecticut. He died at the age of 58 on May 1st, 1723.
John Avery
John was born in New London,New London County,Connecticut. He died on April 17th, 1724 in Stonington,Connecticut.
Capt. James and Abigail (Ingraham) were married in a religious ceremony in April 1668.
Capt. James and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony after 1669.
