Thomas Armstrong 
Thomas was born in 1710 in Ireland. Thomas' father was Col. John Armstrong. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert, William, Isabella, Jean and Ann. He died at the age of 66 in 1776.General Notes
From "History of Rockbnridge Co., VA"---Thomas A. got 100 acres from Borden Sr. on 21-2-1738.
Possibly he came with the McDowell group that was persuaded to settle in Borden Sr. grant in 1737. Also there was the 400 acres from Bell in Jennings Gap on 21-5-1747 in Augusta co. VA. Where did the McDowell group come from?

In 1738 Thomas entered 100 acres with Benjamin Borden, but got no deed. James Bell deeded Thomas 400 acres on Jennings Branch of Cathey's River in Augusta Co. VA on May 21, 1746. On Nov 21, 1759 Thomas deeded son Ailliam 200 acres on Jennings Creek. Thomas will dated April 29, 1776 was proved Aug 20, 1776 in Augustat co. VA
‌Thomas and Ann (Lafferty) were married in a religious ceremony on September 24th, 1763 in Augusta County,Virginia.
They had four sons and three daughters, named William, Abel, Edward, Henry, Sarah, Jane and Rosanna.

Sarah Armstrong
Sarah was born in 1732 in Augusta County,Virginia. She died at the age of 55 on January 31st, 1787 in Flagg Springs,Augusta County,Virginia.
William Armstrong
William was born in 1738. He died at the age of 64 on May 6th, 1802 in Augusta County,Virginia.
Abel Armstrong
Abel was born on June 4th, 1758 in Augusta County Virginia. He died at the age of 79 on August 26th, 1837 in Logan County,Kentucky.
