Humphrie was born about 1555 in Barnwell, Warwickshire, England. Humphrie's father was Nicholas Purefoy and his mother was Joice Hardwick. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Purefoy and Margerie Fitzherbert. He was an only child. He died in 1598.-
