Aelftrude (Ethelwida) of Wessex was born about 0877 in Wessex, England.  Aelftrude (Ethelwida) of Wessex's father was ALFRED "THE GREAT" KING OF ENGLAND and her mother was Ethelwitha Of Mercia.  Her paternal grandparents were Aethelwulf of Wessex and UNKNOWN Osburga; her maternal grandparents were AETHELRED Mucil and Eadburh Of Mercia. She had two brothers and a sister, named Edward I (The Elder), Athelstan and UNKNOWN.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died in Flanders.  She was buried in St. Peters Abbey, Ghent, Belgium.
