Joane (Isabel) was born about 1194 in of Elmley, Worcester, England. Joane (Isabel)'s father was Lord Roger de Mortimer. Her paternal grandparents were Hugh deMortimer and Maud deLongespee. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Ralph, Ralph, Joan Isabel and Joane Isabelle. She was the oldest of the five children. She died in 1268.
