Avice was born in 1088 in Nottingham.  Avice's father was Roger The Poitevin La Marche , Lord and her mother was Almodis Countess La Marche.  Her maternal grandparents were Unknown La Marche and Unknown La Marche.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 61 in 1149.

‌Avice and William were married in a religious ceremony about 1112 in La Marche, Normandy, France.  They had two daughters named Margaret and Margaret.
